My old HP 27vc monitor has served me well over the years, but the glossy screen started to bother me over time and I wanted to upgrade to a 1440p monitor (which has twice the pixels of a 1080p monitor) and when the well reviewed Dell S2721DGF monitor went on sale, I picked it up. It's a nice monitor and it's an upgrade for sure (mainly better colours, refresh and anti-glare is what I noticed most). I did have to get used to the 1440p resolution though. I'm happy with it, as long as it lasts for at least a few years.
Features that mattered most to me:
- 27" IPS panel
- Native Resolution: 2560 x 1440 (DisplayPort: 165 Hz, HDMI: 144 Hz)
- Brightness: 400 cd/m²
- Contrast Ratio: 1000:1
- Colour Support: 1.07 billion colours
- Response Time: 1 ms (grey-to-grey)
- Screen Coating: Anti-glare, 3H Hard Coating (I really dislike glossy monitors now)
- Connections: 2 x HDMI, DisplayPort, Audio line-out (mini-jack)
- Display Position Adjustments: Height, pivot (rotation), swivel
