Costco: Frozen Atlantic Salmon Burgers

0

Lately, I've pretty much skipped the frozen food section at Costco, just because of the  overall disappointment with their frozen foods. If you're like me, you feel that it's a gamble to buy frozen foods at Costco, because of the "commitment" to have to eat the entire box yourself of whatever it is you end up buying (especially hard to do, if it tastes bad). But, once in a while I'll feel adventurous, roll the dice and give something new a try (just call me "daredevil").

Most of the frozen foods I've tried at Costco are generally underwhelming in taste, and I also try to select items that don't have a ton of salt in it for health reasons. I took a risk on these frozen uncooked salmon burgers ($19.99 for 12 salmon burgers) and didn't expect much. At home, I went for the pan fry cooking method, and was careful not too overcook it: "Lightly oil pan and preheat over medium heat. Cook burgers for 20-22 minutes, flipping halfway."

After cooking it, I put on some Kewpie Japanese mayonnaise and took a bite...For once, I was actually impressed, and happily finished off two burgers in no time. It's a winner in my book, and I hope Costco keeps it in stock for the long haul.

It's great that the 12 burgers are sealed in three separate packages. Pictured above is one of the packages containing four burgers.
