Picked up this entry level dedicated video card
GeForce GT 710 2GB at Canada Computers for around $60 CAD plus taxes after my old 9-year old HP desktop's video card bit the dust (fan no longer worked, and no video signal came through at all). I obviously wasn't looking to do any gaming with it, just some basic web surfing, office stuff and playing some Youtube videos and so far it does the job fairly well enough.
At this point I'm looking for reliability, and after a few months of use, while it's nothing special, it's working so far and it's given my old
HP desktop an extended life; along with a new power supply, it's actually quiet once again. No crazy fan overdrive buzzing anymore.
